Alvin Bauld

Alvin has been guiding here for more than 17 years. He lives in Stafford Creek, North Andros with the water literally on his back doorstep, so as you can imagine, those fishing grounds are where he has grown up.

He was a talented chef in Grand Bahama before moving back to Andros so ask Alvin to prepare you a fresh conch salad on one of your guide days. With a bit of advance notice, he's happy to oblige!

Alvin regularly fishes with guests from Kamalame Cay, where he was a house guide for many years. He branched out recently after purchasing his own skiff and now works independently.

Clients come back year after year to fish with him and his loyal following keeps him pretty busy - so make sure to book well in advance!

Charter Details:

Alvin operates a 16ft Hughes skiff with a 115hp Yamaha 2-stroke engine. He has experience in all the North Andros fishing grounds as well as the Joulter Cays.

He will pick you up from your accommodation or you can meet him if you have your own transport. Alvin's cousin does operate her own restaurant with some basic rooms, Love At First Sight - so he can easily put together a delicious, local lunch for you if needed.

What to bring:

Equipment - Alvin does carry spare rod outfits (Fly & Spin) but it is best to bring your own.

Tackle - Again, he does have his own but it's best to bring your own tackle box with spare leader, tippit and a selection of flies. Remember wading boots or water shoes as depending on the tides, wading will be part of your trip.

Bone-fishing charter costs:

$450 - Half day (approx. 4hrs.)

$500 - Full day (approx. 8hrs.)

$600 - Full day Joulter Cays.

50% deposit is required on booking, which is non-refundable. The balance is due on arrival. Deposit may be sent via direct bank transfer and balance is cash on island.
